REVIEW OF SYNTHESIS SCHEMES OF SOME BIOLOGICAL ACTIVE QUINOLINES

Quinoline nucleus occurs in several natural compounds and pharmacologically active substances displaying a broad range of biological activity. Quinoline is used as a lead compound and act as a significant pharmacophore. Chemically benzene ring is fused with pyridine ring to form quinolines. In many compounds replacement of this ring leads to loss of pharmacological activity. The quinolone structure plays an extremely important role in the area of new investigational drug discovery programme. So in this paper we have discussed about many synthesis schemes of biologically active quinoline derivatives. Quinolines have many types of biological action like antimalarial, anticancer, antimicrobial, antiviral, antidiabetic etc.
