Curcumin ,Antioxidant ,Anti inflammatory ,

Curcumin, a natural polyphenolic product has been used as a treatment modality since ages in many parts of the world and have been variedly used in dentistry in recent years. The physico-chemical and structural features are responsible for the biological activities of curcumin, which includes its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, immunomodulator and anti tumorogenic nature. So the aim of this review is to provide a compilation of the diverse array of molecular targets on which curcumin acts proving it a great potential to be used as a therapeutic agent for oral diseases. But curcumin with its lower bioavailability and its tendency to form reactive oxygen species is not as successful as it was hypothesized. Hence a large number of studies with an ample amount of sample is required for understanding its therapeutic implications.
