Gastric ulcer, one of the most widespread, is believed to be due to an imbalance between aggressive and protective factors. Ulcer is caused due to the continuously exposure of gastric mucosa to potentially injurious agents such as acid, pepsin, bile acids, food ingredients, bacterial products (Helicobacter pylori) and drugs. These agents have been implicated in the pathogenesis of gastric ulcer, including enhanced gastric acid and pepsin secretion. In this present work, poly herbal formulations of the capsules have been prepared using the herbal extracts and the same were investigated for the antiulcer activity in two models, Ethanol induced gastric ulceration and pylorus ligation induced gastric ulceration model. Polyherbal formulation incorporating herbal extracts was prepared and named as Formulations F40 and F50 and were investigated for ulcer activity. they showed a significant activity compared to the standard drug in both the activities
