Dyslipidaemia, or an abnormal lipid level, is a significant risk factor of cardiovascular diseases (CVD), which are the main causes of morbidity and mortality in the world. Statins have long underpinned the lipid-lowering treatment but their shortcomings, such as side effects and lack of control over some lipid abnormalities, have been the catalyst of alternative treatments. The paper examines the changing role of community pharmacists in the disease burden of dyslipidemia, addressing the application of statins and more recent medical treatments, including PCSK9 inhibitors, ezetimibe, fibrates, and omega-3 fatty acids. Community pharmacies have a special chance of letting pharmacists to administer medication guidance, medication adherence, and lifestyle suggestions with a view of guaranteeing optimum patient results. With the help of the knowledge in pharmacology, pharmacists are capable of educating patients, observing lipid levels, and cooperating with other medical personnel to provide comprehensive care to patients. Besides, the development of digital health tools and personalized medicine provides new opportunities in improving the management of dyslipidemia. The paper highlights the significance of community pharmacy in decreasing the burden of CVD with its access to patientfocused care and a combination of pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions.
