Buccal drug delivery system is a direct attempt to access to the systemic circulation. Hepatic first pass metabolism leading to high bioavailability. It is an attractive route of administration for systemic drug delivery. Bioadhesion may be defined as a phenomenon of interfacial molecular attractive forces in the midst of the surfaces of biological substrate and the natural or synthetic polymers, The main objective of this study was to selectively collect the data which were extended the gastrointestinal residence time of the dosage form and controlled the release of mucoadhesives.
